Former Burton and Stourbridge winger Pete Shaw is the Rugby Football Union's  Rugby Development Officer [RDO] for Nottinghamshire. He works alongside Gareth Thomas (Lincolnshire) and Alan Royer (Derbyshire) in developing rugby at all levels in Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire. Peter joined the RFU from Blaby District Council where he worked as a Sports Development Officer.Peter began his playing career with Loughborough as a 15-year-old and progressed through the ranks, winning representative honours with NLD Under-19s as a hooker. He converted to wing during his time at Nottingham's Academy, scoring a hat-trick for NLD Under-20s against the RAF and then moved on to Burton, Stourbridge and lastly Leicester Forest where he still tries to play a little!.   While at University Peter played international rugby league for Scotland Students and he also toured Australia with the Great Britain Students squad.  Since arriving in Nottinghamshire Peter has worked hard to bring inner city schools into playing some rugby against some schools around the city. He organises the NLD Player development courses held at Worksop college each summer for U13-U16 age groups. Peter also manages two community Rugby Coaches Calvin Beech and Steve[Sugar] Shaw in the County.
