NLD School of Rugby
School of Rugby
The School of Rugby programme is run by NLD and aims to identify and develop young players and athletes who have potential to play at the higher levels of the game in England. The programme is supported by the Rugby Football Union and Leicester Tigers. Selected players will attend 9 sessions during September to April. NLD currently has one School of Rugby for ages Under 14 & 15.
The programme is a step on the player pathway into the England Rugby Academy system through the Elite Player Development Group.
Elite Player Development Group
The Elite Player Development Group is run by Leicester Tigers and is the next step up from Schools of Rugby. The programme is supported by the Rugby Football Union and NLD. NLD has one Elite Player Development Group for ages Under 14 to Under 16. At the end of the Under 16 programme players with the right ability or potential are invited into the Leicester Tigers Academy.

Whilst both programmes look to identify and develop players for the Elite Game, it is also well recognised that the programmes will undoubtedly be developing the next leaders in the community game within NLD.
