Rugby Development Officer - Derbyshire
Having played rugby since the age of 6, rugby was a huge part of my upbringing, starting out at Chesterfield Rugby Club, playing Scrum Half. I played for NLD U16 Schools, Leicester Tigers EPDC, Nottingham Academy, NLD U17 Development Team, and NLD U18 two years running, earning a Midlands Trial the second year. I played for Nottingham Academy and Nottingham Rugby 2nd Team for 3 years before injury stopped me from playing. I also toured Australia with the NLD Tour in 2003.
I then moved into coaching more permanently, coaching Nottingham Academy, NLD U15, NLD U16, NLD U17 Development and NLD U18. During my time at Loughborough University I coached the Freshers and Development Teams whilst earning my 2:1 BSc in Geography. I now also coach Nottingham Moderns 1st XV, and have recently developed a series of Back Three and Scrum Half Masterclasses throughout Notts, Lincs and Derbys, to further develop players playing in those positions.
During my studies and for 18 months after graduation I worked for Response Physiotherapy as their Business Development Manager, I have also worked for Bolsover and District Schools Sport Partnership as their Rugby Development Coordinator, before starting work in Nottinghamshire as a Community Rugby Coach in 2010.
I am really excited to be back in Derbyshire working with Clubs to help them to become stronger and to grow the game.
